BIOGRAPHY
Jane Oldfield was born in Harewood, Yorkshire. She studied at Hornsey College of Art 1966-68, and she gained a M.Sc. in Design Research at UMIST in 1970 and a Ph D in 1980. She is a registered member of the Ergonomics Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Jane returned to painting during the 1990s following the birth of her daughter and moving to St Margaret's. She shared a group studio on Platt's Eyott in the Thames at Hampton during 1999 and 2000 and showed at 'FreshArt', Islington in 2002.
She has successfully completed commissions for private clients in USA and the UK; and has work in the Ourense public collection in Spain and the Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester. She has exhibited often in London and also in Manchester, Hull, Galicia (northern Spain), Antwerp and northern Italy.
Her most recent solo show was held at the Waterloo Gallery in 2006. This exhibition then moved to Barga, in Tuscany. Her most recent group shows with the Riverside Artists Group were at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith in 2007 and the Knapp Gallery, Regents Park in 2008.
